Cloud-Conversion are a highly experienced team of land surveyors. We regularly undertake topographical and also boundary land surveys for a variety of industries. We work with construction, structural engineering, and architectural clients across the UK. Using industry-leading hardware and software, we deliver a range of products tailored to each individual application and client. We use a combination of the latest 3D laser scanning technology to produce rich point cloud data, state-of-the-art drones for high-resolution orthorectified imagery, and also high accuracy GPS and total stations. As a result, we always ensure the precision of our client’s final deliverables.
Types of Land Surveys and Methodology
In the surveying industry, the term ‘land survey’ most commonly refers to a topographical survey. This type of survey captures and details all land features within a given area and is usually depicted on a 2D CAD drawing. Topographic surveys are usually used to create detailed plan view 2D maps of the surface contours, levels, and other 3D characteristics of an area. These include buildings, walls and fences, trees, roads, rivers, and underground utilities. It is also possible to create 3D DTM models of these areas, which allow additional usability of the data.
This is the most common form of land survey product; however, there are more specific forms of land or topographic surveys available. Which to choose depends on the purpose and type of final deliverable.
Topographic Land Surveys
These rigorous land surveys are important and beneficial for every stage of a construction or engineering project. This includes project planning and proposals, construction work and development, and monitoring any changes after work has finished. Projects benefit from these surveys in terms of risk management, budgeting, and design excellence.
Cloud-Conversion provides topographic land surveying services for a range of applications. This includes housing and building development planning, Land Registry planning submissions, erosion and movement monitoring, and the establishment of boundary lines. We use laser scanning, GPS, total station, and aerial mapping techniques to provide clients with the topographic deliverables they need even with limited access to the survey area.
Boundary Land Surveys
Land surveys are crucially important for establishing where boundaries are within an area of land. This is particularly true when boundaries are in dispute or could cause expensive setbacks for a proposed construction project. As qualified land surveyors, Cloud-Conversion can help you establish legal boundary lines on small and large parcels of land for planning permission purposes, as well as confirming or logging existing boundaries. Drone Land Surveying
We use drones to undertake aerial surveys across the country. Drone surveys are particularly useful for remote access areas where it may be difficult or dangerous to send personnel.
We use the latest drone technology to capture highly accurate and detailed HD and thermal photographic data. Our drones provide up to 6mm per pixel accuracy.
